R.W. Norton Art Gallery's Annual Juried Exhibit BLOOM!2020
Coronavirus pandemic changed our life. In early spring in this 2020 I canceled all my planned events I wanted to take part even before our Louisiana State locked down, except one event. I was afraid of a new unknown disease very much. Of course, I was very upset about canceling events to sell my stuff in a new season. I made new collections of resin pieces of jewelry, new Pressed Plant Arts, and to know nobody will see or buy them was very hard.
Very soon after I made the decision I knew our State would be locked down. That moment my Pressed Plant Art “Lilies” was in R. W. Norton Art Gallery in Louisiana. Gallery organized the International exhibition and juried contest for artists. But they didn’t know what to do because Louisiana State was locked down and all public events became impossible.
Eventually, only jurors for contest saw hanging arts on the wall. And winners got money prizes. But there weren’t either artists or the public at the exhibition. It’s a very sad story. The staff of the Gallery did the video, photos, and digital catalog about the exhibition and sent it by email to all participants. I only brought in the beginning and took back my art in the end. I didn’t see the whole exhibition in real life, but only in the video, on photos and in the catalog.
I’d like to share with you the only event I took part in this season.
This is a video about the exhibition.
